Thank you for showing interests in The Light Academy. As you begin the application process, please take advantage of all of the helpful information on our website. Admission Process
Below is an overview of our admissions process:
- Pick an application form from the office or download from the website
- Complete the form and submit it.
- Your ward, depending on the class seeking, will be called for an interview and will need to write entrance exams.
- You will be informed about the admission results for your child by letter. If your ward is successful you will be given an admission letter to that effect and an invoice with all related fees will also be included with your letter.
Fees
Admission Fee
This is a one-time cost, which will allow your child to get admission to The Light Academy.
Examination & Registration Fee
This fee will be paid when your ward has been called to write the entrance exams.
School Fees
This fee can be paid either monthly or termly. However we encourage all new entrants to pay all fees in full. The tuition fee will differ depending on the level your child is in (i.e. Pre-school, Lower Primary, Upper Primary, or JHS).
Other Costs
- School uniforms ‐ design is given and you have the choice to sew yourself or the designated designer from the school does that for you Lunch program (optional)
- Friday wear
- Physical Education Kit ‐ Houses, (Daniel, Edwin, Shirley, Joseph)
- Textbooks are sold yearly i.e. every September
- Excursions and school trips (mandatory)
WITHDRAWAL
This is a one‐time cost, which will allow your child to get admission to The Light Academy.
- Complete the attached withdrawal form and email it to the Admissions office at admin@thelightacademygh.org, or stop by the Admissions office to obtain a form in person
- If you have children in more than one division (i.e.Pre‐school, lower primary, upper primary, JHS), please complete the form once, by including all children in the same submission.
- Return all textbooks to the book store and library books to the library
STUDENT RECORDS
Tanscripts and/or records will be provided once the withdrawal forms have been completed and the student has received clearance from both the business office, the book store, and the library.
TEACHER RECOMMENDATION FORMS
Confidential Recommendation Forms required by your next school should be submitted to the Admissions office, where they will be directed to the subject teachers required by the school, or, if not specified, then to the teachers of your choice.
Teachers will fill in these forms and hand them over to the Admissions office. The Admissions office will then email them out if required, or prepare a sealed packet to mail.
The Admissions office will contact you when the forms have been sent out as per the prospective school’s requirement.
Confidential letters of recommendation, once prepared, will not be turned over to students or parents, but will be sent directly to the prospective school. If you have any suggestions or comments about admission, school life, and/or the withdrawal process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
